br2基因对玉米的遗传矮化作用与过氧化物酶的活性

摘要:
通过对三个半矮生(brachytic—2,即 br2)玉米(Zea mays)及其高秆等基因同型系和相应的杂种 F1主要生育期过氧化物酶活性的测定,探讨了 br2基因的遗传矮化作用的化学机制。休眠种子过氧化物酶活性最低,种子萌发后,过氧化物酶活性迅速提高,但主要集中在种胚内;在不同器官中;根内酶活性最高,依次是叶、雌雄穗柄和叶鞘,节间的酶活性最低;根、叶、叶鞘表现为较老的组织酶活性高于新生组织,但节间的过氧化物酶活性,矮秆系以拔节期最高,高秆材料从拔节到蜡熟大致维持在稳定的水平;只有拔节期节间的酶活性高矮秆材料才表现显著差异,这种差异与成熟期株高呈显著负相关。我们设想:br2基因很可能仅仅在拔节期对伸长中的节间发挥作用,这种作用主要通过抑制吲哚乙酸(IAA)的代谢而阻碍细胞伸长,从而最终降低植株高度。
